Go Vegan With These Amazing Foods; An Easy How-To Guide to Share

Written by Hannah Sentenac,
Want to cut down on your meat and milk intake? Does going vegan seem too difficult or complicated? Are you confused about what to buy?
Not to worry. This is 2019 and there are delicious plant-based versions of all your favorite foods! You don't have to give up anything -- just switch out a few of the items you already buy.
Vegan products are available at restaurants and supermarkets all over the world -- and they're so good nowadays you won't be able to tell the difference between what's made from plants and the "real" meat and cheeses you're used to. Here are a few of our favorites:
If you think you can't live without cheese -- we've got good news. Miyoko's and Daiya are two outstanding vegan cheese brands. Both are available at Whole Foods, 365, Lassens, and Miyoko's is even on the shelves at Target! They're insanely delicious and come in standard flavors like cheddar and mozzarella -- plus fancier options like double cream chive and biergarten garlic chive. Some other excellent vegan cheese brands include Treeline, Parmela, Follow Your Heart, Chao, and Go Veggie
For burger lovers, the Beyond Meat Beyond Burger and Impossible Foods Impossible Burger cook and taste just exactly like beef, and they're on menus EVERYWHERE, from Veggie Grill to Carl's Jr. to TGI Fridays to Umami Burger and more. The Impossible Burger isn't in stores yet, but you can pick up the Beyond Burger at Whole Foods, 365, Lassens, Vons, and tons of other chains. Gardein also makes a lengthy range of "meat" products, from chicken strips to porkless bites to beefy crumbles.
Is sausage or ham your weakness? The Beyond Sausage will blow your mind! It comes in Brat Original, Sweet Italian, and Hot Italian, and it's available at all Whole Foods and 365 locations. More stores are starting to carry it, too. If you have a hard time finding it (it frequently sells out because it's so popular) head to Veggie Grill and order their hot dog! It's a carnivore's dream. Field Roast and Tofurky also make some delicious sausage options.
If eggs are a staple in your diet, JUST Egg is the answer! It's a liquid scramble (made from plants) that tastes just like the eggs you're used to, and it's completely tasty! It's starting to hit stores now, so check out the JUST website to see where it's available near you. Veggie Grill offers it in their all-day breakfast burrito, so that's always an option if you're not into cooking.
When it comes to cow's milk there are dozens of tasty alternatives made from plants including almond milk, hemp milk, oat milk, coconut milk, pea milk, cashew milk, rice milk, soy milk, and more. Every coffee shop has non-dairy options, and all supermarkets sell them. Plus creamers, too! Brands include Ripple, Silk, Califia Farms, Almond Breeze, So Delicious, Oatly, and even store brands usually offer non-dairy options these days. Try a few and find your favorites.
As far as desserts, check out Ben & Jerry's and Breyer's non-dairy ice cream flavors! So Delicious makes an array of tasty vegan ice creams, too, as does Halo TopLuna & Larry'sHaagen Daaz, among others.
If you're a Trader Joe's fan, they have a ton of vegan products, from mayonnaise to cheese to meatballs. Ask one of the friendly employees to give you a tour of the options!
(Keep in mind that this is just a short introductory list. There are TONS of other products, restaurants, and recipes to explore! The future is vegan, and it's delicious! Stay tuned for our full HOW TO GO VEGAN GUIDE, publishing soon!)
